                                       JUNIOR GOLF GETS OFF TO A FLYING START IN 2010

The 2010 golf season for junior golf with headline sponsor Nedbank Namibia , got off to a flying start. The development program and exposure given through not only hosting more tournaments annually but also more development tournaments is giving the junior golfers an edge.In hindsight it was to be expected should we take into consideration the performance of he juniors during 2009.

During the 2010 Walvis Bay Open held at Walvis Bay Golf Club on the 23 January 2010 , Ruan Huysamen played exceptionally well to beat the strong field of senior players by 5 shots.

A week later the the 2010 Gold Cup was hosted at the new Windhoek Golf & Country Club course. During this tournament, Glen de Waal outclassed the strong field by beating his nearest rival with 3 shots while Ruan Huysamen and Charl du Preez clinched 3rd & 4th spots respectively.

In anither exciting turn of events, Bonita Bredenhan our star girl golfer outclassed the field in SouthAfrica to win the 2010 Eastern Cape Ladies Open in a sudden death play-off on the 1st play-off hole. Bonita departs for KZN on friday to compete inthe KZN Championships . Join us with best wishes for this tournament and make us even more proud.

 During February the Junior Golf Foundation held the 2nd Tsumeb Junior Open Tournament . Hosting suchTournament in the rural areas is part of the Foundation promise to take golf to the kids. On the Friday the Foundation EXCO and their development coach , asisted a number of kids during a golf clinic held at the club.

 This tournament was won by Charl du Preez after he go stiff competion from Roux Jeffery tha took him to a 2 play-off holes before conceding to Charl's experience. During this event 11 boys participated 1n the 1st of 3 training camps from which the final 4 boys will be selected at the end of March 2010 to represent Namibia at the Junior All Africa Qualifier Tournament hosted by South Africa at Glendower Golf Club during 1st week in April 2010.
